the kids have gone back home
and we move quietly through the day
each one in their own trail of thought
even Biz waits in front of the door
wondering when they will return
the beds are changed
except for the room where the granddaughters slept
i snuggle in and feel their presence still
and think how long it will be before they come
to visit us again..... and how they will have grown
my son pulls at my heartstrings... i found myself
staring at him constantly,
looking for a part of Dad, a part of me....
he is who we were and we are what he will be.....
i said i wouldn't cry when they left.... and i didn't
no tears that you could see....

i'm sure they were teary-eyed as they drove away too.
glad you had some time with the grandkids.

It's always hard to say good-bye.
Happy blogoversary :)
hi Maria.... yes, we all get teary-eyed when it's time for those goodbyes...
my other son and 5 daughters were here this wknd past.... now they've gone and summer will soon be coming to an end....
yes, they are New Guinea impatients, so pretty... the summer heat was hard on my pretties this year, but with a little extra TLC they took it all in stride.....
